The body of a woman who apparently committed suicide was found Friday on the grounds of an elementary school in Buena Park, and classes were canceled for the day, authorities said.

The body was discovered about 6 a.m. at Corey Elementary School, 7351 Holder Ave., said Buena Park police Lt. Tamra Banks.

“Detectives … determined there was no suspicious activity, and this incident is non-school related,” Banks said in a statement.

The name of the woman was withheld, pending notification of family. The manner of death was not disclosed.

The school was closed for the day, Banks said.
