A girl’s body was found Monday near a Mission Viejo park, and Orange County sheriff’s investigators suspect it may be a 13- year-old who was reported missing Sunday.
The body was found by a passerby about noon in heavy brush bordering Pinecrest Park, sheriff’s spokeswoman Carrie Braun said. She said the death does not appear to be “suspicious.”
The girl has not yet been identified, but deputies suspect it could be the body of the 13-year-old girl who was last seen about 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Braun said. Investigators suspected the girl ran away from home.
An official identification will be made by the coroner’s office.
