The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Friday for the 25th consecutive day, decreasing two-tenths of a cent to $3.667, its lowest amount since May 1.

The average price has dropped 9.4 cents over the past 25 days, including three-tenths of a cent on Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The streak of decreases is the longest since a 27-day run from Nov. 25-Dec. 21.

The average price is 2.3 cents less than one week ago and 9.8 cents lower than one month ago, but 74.2 cents higher than one year ago. It has risen 51.7 cents since the start of the year.

A 19-day streak of decreases to the Orange County average price ended Friday when it was unchanged, remaining at $3.616. The average price dropped 9.3 cents during the streak, including eight-tenths of a cent on Thursday.

The 19-day streak of dropping prices was the longest since a 37-day streak from Nov. 15-Dec. 21.

The Orange County average price is 3.1 cents less than one week ago and 12.1 cents lower than one month ago, but 72.6 cents higher than one year ago. It has risen 50 cents since the start of the year.
