Local, state and national experts on aging within the LGBTQ community are slated to attend a free community meeting Thursday in Palm Springs.
Palm Springs Councilwoman Lisa Middleton, along with SAGE Advocacy and Services for LGBTQ Elders, will co-host the event at the Palm Springs Convention Center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Other topics will include HIV and aging, culturally competent healthcare, social isolation, and policies that directly impact LGBTQ eldery people, according to organizers.
The event is sponsored by The LGBT Community Center of the Desert, Eisenhower Medical Center, Mizell Senior Center, Desert AIDS Project and the city of Palm Springs.
A light breakfast will be served.
The free event will be held at the Palm Springs Convention Center, 277 N. Avenida Caballeros.
