A brushfire in the Bolsa Chica wetlands in Huntington Beach burned about 62 acres Sunday.
The blaze began Sunday afternoon after igniting south of Warner Avenue east of Pacific Coast Highway, according to the Huntington Beach Fire Department.
Flames threatened houses in the Brightwater neighborhood but were stopped about 100 yards away, the department said.
At least 20 units of apparatus were dispatched along with water-dropping helicopters, the department said.
Full containment was established around 7 p.m., the department said. Firefighters will remain on scene throughout the night to mop up any hotspots.
No injuries were reported, the department reported.
