Former Smiths frontman Morrissey’s scheduled concerts this week at the Honda Center in Anaheim and Kia Forum in Inglewood were canceled Thursday, with both venues citing “unforeseen circumstances.”

Morrissey had been expected to perform his “You Are the Quarry” album in its entirety to mark its 20th anniversary. The Anaheim concert was scheduled for Friday, followed by a Saturday night show in Inglewood.

There was no official word from the artist about the reason for the cancellation, but he is no stranger to canceling performances. In 2022, he famously walked off stage at the Greek Theatre after about 30 minutes, proclaiming it was too cold at the outdoor venue to continue.

Honda Center and Kia Forum officials both posted messages on social media about the shows’ cancellations, and fans were quick to respond with biting comments, such as “Surprise to no one,” “Like clockwork,” and “Is it too cold?”

Another wrote, “Death, Taxes and Morrissey canceling shows.”

According to the venues, people who bought tickets for the performances will automatically receive refunds.
