The streak of increases to the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County was extended Thursday to 15 days, but barely, rising three-tenths of a cent to $6.244, its highest amount since Oct. 3, 2023.

The average price has risen 32.4 cents over the past 15 days, including 3.4 cents Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The streak of increases follows a 14-day streak of decreases totaling 12.8 cents.

The average price is 14 cents more than one week ago, 19.6 cents higher than one month ago and $1.492 above what it was one year ago. It has risen $1.57 since the joint U.S./Israel attack on Iran Feb. 28, moving within 25 cents of the record $6.494 set on Oct. 5, 2022.

The 15-day streak of increases totaling 37 cents that boosted the Orange County to its highest amount since Oct. 2, 2023, ended with a decrease of three-tenths of a cent to $6.214.

The Orange County average price is 14.5 cents more than one week ago, 23.5 cents higher than one month ago and $1.526 above what it was one year ago. It has risen $1.578 since the attack on Iran, moving within 24.5 cents of the record $6.459 set Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price rose to its highest amount since July 16, 2022, increasing 2.2 cents to $4.558. It has risen 15 consecutive days, increasing 54.8 cents, including 5.3 cents Wednesday.

The national average price is 25.8 cents more than one week ago, 41.8 cents higher than one month ago and $1.404 above what it was one year ago. It has risen $1.576 since the attack on Iran, moving within 45.8 cents of the record $5.016 set June 14, 2022.
