The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Friday for the 38th time in 39 days, decreasing nine-tenths of a cent to $5.404, its lowest amount since March 11.
The average price has dropped 76.2 cents over the past 39 days, including 1.2 cents Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It decreased 27 consecutive days, was unchanged June 22 and resumed the following day.
The average price is 8.2 cents less than one week ago and 62 cents lower than one month ago, but 83.8 cents more than one year ago.
The Orange County average price dropped for the 46th time in 47 days, decreasing 1.2 cents to $5.272, its lowest amount since March 8. It has fallen 90.4 cents over the past 47 days, including 1.5 cents Thursday.
The Orange County average price dropped 42 consecutive days, rose three-tenths of a cent Monday and resumed decreasing Tuesday. It is 8.6 cents less than one week ago and 65.1 cents lower than one month ago, but 76.8 cents more than one year ago.
The national average price dropped for the 41st time in 43 days, falling 1.5 cents to $3.823, its lowest amount since March 17. It has decreased 74.1 cents over the past 43 days, including nine-tenths of a cent Thursday.
The national average price is 7.8 cents less than one week ago and 43.8 cents lower than one month ago, but 66 cents more than one year ago. It dropped 33 consecutive days, rose two-tenths of a cent June 25, decreased the next six days and was unchanged Wednesday.
