A woman escaped injury Wednesday when her car tumbled 80 feet down an embankment and onto its roof off state Route 62 near Desert Hot Springs, authorities said.
The vehicle veered off of SR-62 near Indian Canyon Drive just before 10 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officer Jackie Quintero said the driver, who was traveling alone, was checked out by medical personnel on scene and reported she was unhurt.
At least one side of the thoroughfare was blocked while first responders worked the scene, the CHP reported.
