A wildfire erupted Monday in Anza, scorching roughly three acres and threatening several structures by the time crews reached the location.
The blaze was reported at 12:55 p.m. in the area of Meyers Lane and Terwilliger Road, just south of Highway 371, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames moving at a moderate rate to the east in a developed agricultural site, though it wasn’t immediately clear what was growing there.
Two Cal Fire air tankers and a water-dropping helicopter were summoned to the location and began making runs on the brusher at 1:20 p.m.
The two structures in the path of the fire did not appear to be occupied, according to reports from the scene.
There was no immediate word on what might have sparked the blaze.
