Traffic will be slowed in areas of Blythe this week as work continues on a $241 million pavement, beautification and safety enhancements project on Interstate 10.

Work is scheduled Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. No lane closures are scheduled, but speed limits will be reduced by 10 mph throughout the work zones, according to Caltrans.

The project includes concrete pavement rehabilitation of 88 lane miles, on- and off-ramps and shoulders. Officials said 11,950 linear feet of new guardrail systems will be installed.

Also upgraded will be curb ramps, sidewalks and crosswalk safety enhancements, along with installation of “push button posts” to Americans with Disabilities Act standards.
