Riverside County is expected to see a slight cooling trend during the second half of this week, forecasters said Sunday, though highs will still exceed 100 degrees in some areas.
“High temperatures are expected to begin to decrease as early as Wednesday, with a cooling trend expected through Friday,” according to the National Weather Service.
Sunday’s highs reached 93 in the Riverside metropolitan area, 89 in Temecula Valley and 106 in the Coachella Valley.
The Coachella Valley will have highs of 109 on Monday and 112 Tuesday, falling to 106 by Wednesday and dropping to 103 on Friday and Saturday, according to current forecasts. Lows in the Coachella Valley will drop from the mid-80s at the beginning of the week to the mid-70s by Thursday night and into the weekend.
Forecasters said the Riverside metropolitan area will be in the high 90s until Wednesday and drop to 92 by Thursday, 89 on Friday and 91 on Saturday. Nighttime temperatures in the area were expected to be in the low 70s at the beginning of the week, dropping to the low 60s by the end of the week, according to the NWS.
In the Temecula Valley, highs will be at 94 on Monday, 98 on Tuesday and 93 by Wednesday, dropping into the upper 80s by Thursday and through the weekend. Lows in the Temecula Valley were expected to drop to the high 60s at the beginning of the week and low 60s from Wednesday night to the weekend, according to the NWS.
