A 77-year-old woman killed in a two-vehicle freeway crash in Palm Springs was publicly identified Tuesday.
The crash was reported at approximately 11:55 a.m. Monday on Highway 111 near Overture Drive, according to California Highway Patrol records.
CHP officer David Torres told City News Service that a white Mazda SUV was driving southbound when a black Ford pick-up truck crossed in front of the other vehicle.
The Mazda — occupied by Susan Cobb, according to a coroner’s report released Tuesday — then broadsided the pick-up, Torres said.
Cobb was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center, where she died less than three hours later.
According to Torres, the man driving the Ford reported having some pain, but suffered no serious injuries. He was the only occupant of his vehicle.
