The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped Saturday for the 11th time in 12 days, decreasing 1.3 cents to $4.644.
The average price has dropped 12.4 cents over the past 12 days, including eight-tenths of a cent Friday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It is 5.5 cents less than one week ago, but 8.9 cents more than one month ago and 31.8 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.729 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
“Oil Price Information Service reported late last week that California refinery gasoline production has rebounded after a downturn related to refinery maintenance,” Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager, said in a statement released Thursday. “This price drop comes just in time for the nearly six million Southern Californians who are planning to drive to Thanksgiving holiday getaways next weekend.”
The national average price dropped 1.5 cents to $3.079. It is three-tenths of a cent more than one week ago, 1.3 cents more than one month ago and 2.1 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.937 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
