Dodger slugger Shohei Ohtani has been selected as National League Player of the Week after hitting .458 with four home runs and 11 RBIs between last Monday and Sunday, Major League Baseball announced Monday.
Ohtani led MLB in RBIs, slugging percentage (1.083), on-base plus slugging (1.650), extra-base hits (7) and total bases (26); tied for the lead in homers; was ranked second in on-base percentage (.567); tied for second in walks (6); tied for fourth in runs scored (8); and tied for fifth in batting average for the week as the Dodgers won four of six games.
This was the second time this season and ninth in his seven-year major league career that Ohtani has been selected as player of the week.
