The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose eight-tenths of a cent Thursday to $4.631 after back-to-back decreases totaling 1.1 cents dropped it to its lowest amount since Aug. 29.
The average price is 1 cents less than one week ago and 9.5 cents lower than one month ago but 9.6 cents more than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.
The average price has decreased $1.862 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The run of eight decreases in nine days to the Orange County average price totaling 7.4 cents ended with an increase of 1.5 cents to $4.583. It is eight-tenths of a cent less than one week ago and 11.5 cents lower than one month ago but 14.2 cents more than one year ago.
The Orange County average price has decreased $1.875 since rising to a record $6.458 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The six-day streak of decreases to the national average price totaling 3.3 cents ended when it was unchanged, remaining at $3.038. It is 3.3 cents less than one week ago, 11.3 cents lower than one month ago and 9.7 cents below what it was one year ago.
The national average price has dropped $1.978 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
