At least one person was killed in a crash during a reported pursuit of a wrong way vehicle on the Moreno Valley (60) Freeway in Beaumont, authorities said Monday.
The vehicle was reported eastbound in westbound lanes at 10:34 p.m. Sunday when the crash happened at Jack Rabbit Trail, the California Highway Patrol said.
The CHP originally reported the crash as having resulted in major injuries but changed it to a fatal at 3:10 a.m.
Eastbound lanes were closed while the wreckage was cleared and reopened about 11:25 p.m., the CHP said.
No further information was immediately available.
