A fast-moving wildfire burned five acres east of Hemet Thursday, but no injuries or structure damage were reported.
The fire was reported at 4:37 p.m. near Bautista Canyon Road north of Blackburn Ridge Road in Blackburn Canyon, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Fire officials initially said the fire was spreading at a “dangerous rate,” but by 5:10 p.m., firefighters reported that they had stopped the forward spread of the blaze.
Fire crews will remain at the scene until the fire is fully contained.
