A motorist was injured Monday in a fiery multi-vehicle crash in Desert Hot Springs.
The collision involving between five and six vehicles was reported about 12:15 p.m. in the area of Palm Drive and 20th Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol. One of the vehicles caught fire, and was fully engulfed by the time Riverside County Fire Department crews arrived.
A motorist was transported to an area hospital with injuries of unknown severity, according to county fire spokeswoman April Newman.
There was no immediate word on what triggered the crash.
