A Los Angeles Rams player is in self-quarantine Wednesday after testing positive for the coronavirus, prompting the team to conduct nearly all football activities remotely.

The only exception will be select players with assigned rehab, the team said in a statement released Tuesday night.

“Out of an abundance of caution we are entering intensive protocol” the statement said. “The decision was made in consultation with the NFL and medical officials as the health and safety of the team is our highest priority.”

Players and coaches will conduct their normal meeting schedule from home.

The player who tested positive was not identified. He immediately entered self-quarantine.

The Rams are scheduled to play at Tampa Bay Monday.
