A vehicle smashed into a guardrail on Interstate 10 east of Indio Wednesday, but the motorist avoided serious injury, according to the highway patrol.
The solo vehicle crash was reported about 11:20 a.m. on westbound 1-10 about 10 miles east of Indio, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP reported the motorist suffered injuries described as minor.
The slow lane was temporarily blocked while crews cleared the wreckage.
