A brush fire that erupted Wednesday in Good Hope charred roughly two acres before it was stopped.

The non-injury blaze was reported at 11:38 a.m. Wednesday in the area of West Ellis Avenue and Highway 74, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The agency said multiple engine and water tender crews were sent to the location and encountered flames moving at a slow rate through medium vegetation along a dry creek bed.

No homes or other structures were in the immediate vicinity.

Firefighters got ahead of the brusher and halted its forward rate of spread by 12:20 p.m.

They had nearly gained full containment 20 minutes later and were expected to have the blaze knocked down around 1 p.m.

The fire was in the vicinity of another small brusher that occurred Tuesday night, according to reports from the scene. It was unclear whether the two might be connected.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
