It may not really happen, and even if it does, it probably won’t be much.

But there’s actually a small chance of rain in the forecast for the Southland Monday night and Tuesday morning.

The National Weather Service forecast for Los Angeles and vicinity on Monday calls for patchy fog before 11 a.m. Otherwise, cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 74.

Monday night there is a 20 percent chance of showers after 11 p.m. Patchy fog before 11 p.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 61.

The forecast for Tuesday calls for a 20 percent chance of showers before 11 a.m. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 69.

In Coastal Orange County the forecast for Monday calls for low clouds in the morning then partly cloudy. Highs 71 to 76.

Monday night it will be partly cloudy in the evening, and then becoming cloudy. Patchy drizzle overnight. Lows 59 to 64.

Tuesday it will be cloudy in the morning, and then becoming partly cloudy. Patchy drizzle in the morning. Highs 71 to 76.

The ultraviolet index level in the Los Angeles area for Monday is a very high 9, according to the weather service. A very high exposure level reading of 10, or greater, means a fair skinned person could suffer a sunburn in about four minutes if not protected.
