The Metro Gold Line remained partially disabled in the Pasadena area Friday morning, with a bus bridge being provided between the Memorial Park and Allen Stations.
Metro spokesman Rick Jager said he expected an update on the status of the line to be provided to the public around mid-morning.
The Gold Line disruptions began around 1:20 a.m. Thursday, when a Fedex big rig crashed into a disabled car on the westbound Foothill (210) Freeway near North Lake Avenue in Pasadena, and one of its two trailers went through a median and ended up on Metro Gold Line tracks, prompting rail service disruptions and freeway lane closures.
Jager said the wreckage ended up on two sets of Metro Gold Line tracks, blocking rail traffic near the Lake Station. He said work is still underway Friday to repair the overhead lines that power the trains and the lines’ supports.
