A person was killed Tuesday evening after “apparently” being struck by a Amtrak Pacific Surfliner in Van Nuys.

The person was found about 9:05 p.m. on or near the railroad tracks in the 15000 block of Raymer Street, near Noble Avenue, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Amtrak Pacific Surfliner Train 796, which goes from San Luis Obispo to San Diego, held at the scene, and no passengers or crew on board were injured, Humphrey said.

Amtrak Pacific Surfliner reported the train was stopped “due to a trespasser incident.”
