Monday the National Weather Service warned that temperatures will rise significantly by Tuesday and it issued a heat advisory for much of Southern California.
The heat advisory begins at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday through 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, but the federal agency forecasted a trend with higher temperatures could last longer.
“A significant warming trend will begin Monday and last through late in the week as the first Santa Ana wind event of the season develops,” the NWS said in a statement. ”’The warmest temperatures will be Tuesday and Wednesday.”
The federal agency forecasts showed temperatures that are expected to be as high as 93 degrees. The NWS warned the impact of the temperatures heightens the risks for heat illness for sensitive people including the very young, the very old, those without air conditioning and those who are outside and are active or working.
