Wonder what Gary DeCarlo thinks about his sports-fan favorite being sung on the floor of the House.

With Dale Frashuer and the late Paul Leka, DeCarlo had a No. 1 song from 1969 — “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye.”

Democrats sang “Na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na, hey-hey, goodbye” Thursday after the 217-214 vote to repeal the Affordable Care Act. The reviews indicate the Dems were happy to see the GOP commit what they consider political suicide.

“According to multiple reporters on Twitter, the chant did not come from House Republicans celebrating the bill passage, but from Democrats signaling their belief that the vote will help cost the republicans their seats in the midterms,” mediate said.

Last November, 74-year-old DeCarlo told axs.com about his cancer fight.

“The cancer he thought he had beaten five years ago, has returned, invading his lung, a rib and muscles in his back. Gary continues to work on his music through the tiring process of treatments,” the music site said.

“His music and meeting with fans gives him the strength to continue fighting this terrible disease.”
