A motorist crashed a sedan into a light standard in Irvine Saturday and required rescue by Orange County Fire Authority firefighters.

The crash occurred about 7:30 a.m. Saturday at Barranca Parkway and von Karman Avenue, according to an OCFA post on X.

Video showed the white sedan engulfed in flames and firefighters working to put them out.

The driver was rescued from the car, tended by paramedics and taken in stable condition to a trauma center, fire officials said.
