Authorities found more than $15,000 worth of narcotics during a traffic stop, the Pomona Police Department announced Thursday.
Officers from the Special Investigations Unit pulled over Miguel Pillado Ruiz, 22, of Pomona, for a vehicle code violation on Wednesday and found that he had never been issued a driver’s license. Officers then searched the vehicle and found 125 grams of heroin, approximately 125 fentanyl pills and more than $1,200, according to police.
Pomona police reported that the street value of the seized narcotics is likely more than $15,000.
Ruiz was arrested and booked at the Pomona City Jail for having expired registration, being an unlicensed driver, possessing a controlled substance for sale, and transporting a controlled substance for sale, according to police.
