Los Angeles Firefighters, with an assist from county and Angeles National Forest firefighters, extinguished a brush fire Saturday that charred about an acre of brush in Sunland.
The blaze burned near 11120 Oro Vista Ave. and was reported at 4:06 p.m., Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said.
The fire scorched some heavy brush near a homeless encampment, Humphrey said.
A total of 63 LAFD firefighters were sent to the scene, he said. There were no available figure from the other departments.
The flames were extinguished in about a half-hour, he said.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remained under investigation.
