A single-story apartment building in the Vermont-Slauson area of South Los Angeles was damaged by flames Saturday evening but there were no injuries.
The fire was reported at 8:26 p.m. at 6926 S. Bonsallo Ave., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Margaret Stewart.
Flames were showing when firefighters arrived but had the fire out in 16 minutes, confining the damage to one unit, Stewart said. No one was inside the unit at the time of the fire.
