Firefighters performed two swiftwater rescues from the Santa Ana Riverbed Saturday, the Riverside County Fire Department said.
The first incident was reported around 9:44 a.m. Saturday south of Riverview Drive and Juan Diaz Avenue, where two people were tapped in the water. Fire crews arrived on the scene and were able to visually locate the trapped victims. A boat rescue began and rescuers entered the water at 10:55 a.m., authorities said.
The two victims were evaluated by paramedics once on shore. One person was sent to a hospital with minor hypothermia and the second person declined further treatment, officials said.
Authorities reported another victim stranded on an island approximately 25 feet away from shore at 11:43 a.m. near Market Street and Via Cerro.
The condition of that person was not immediately available.
Market Street was closed between the bridge of the riverbed and Via Cerro.
