A fire that erupted Monday adjacent to a Hemet storage facility scorched roughly two acres and left a woman burned.

The blaze was reported shortly after 4 p.m. in the area of Crows Nest Place and State Street, according to the Hemet Fire Department.

Multiple engine crews from the city and Riverside County Fire Department were sent to the location and encountered flames moving at a slow rate through a field fronting the storage center.

Firefighters found a woman with minor burns to her lower extremities, and she was taken to Hemet Valley Medical Center for treatment, according to officials at the scene. It was unclear how she had received the injuries.

By 4:50 p.m., the blaze was largely contained, and crews were mopping up.

There was no immediate word regarding what might have sparked the fire.
