A motorist died after striking a tree Sunday in Rancho Mirage.
The fatal solo vehicle crash happened around 6 p.m. Sunday on Highway 111 at Paxton Drive, according to Riverside County Fire Department.
There was no description of the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene. It was unclear if there were any passengers.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
