A 15-year-old boy who was killed in a gang-related shooting in Bell was identified Tuesday.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded at 5:01 p.m. Friday to the 6300 block Alamo Avenue, one block north of Gage Avenue, regarding a shooting, said sheriff’s homicide Lt. Michael Modica.
The 15-year-old boy was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
He was identified Tuesday by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as David Vega.
South Gate police stopped a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle allegedly used in the homicide early Saturday, the Sheriff’s Information Bureau reported. A 15-year-old teenager was detained and taken to the Bell Police Department.
