A motorcycle rider was killed in a crash Wednesday on the San Diego (405) Freeway in Sherman Oaks.
The crash was reported about 11:15 a.m. on the southbound 405 just north of the Ventura (101) Freeway near Burbank Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP sent units to the scene and the Los Angeles Fire Department also responded but was unable to save the man and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
All southbound lanes of the 405 were closed with traffic diverted onto Burbank Boulevard during the emergency response.
