A 21-year-old man suffered 10 stab wounds during a fight in the parking lot of a Palmdale church, across the street from William J. McAdam Park, and police had two suspects in custody Friday.
Deputies responded to the park at 38115 30th St., where the victim collapsed around 10:40 p.m. Thursday, said Lt. Anthony Gunn of the Sheriff’s Palmdale Station. He was taken to a hospital where he is in stable condition, Gunn said.
A witness at the scene told deputies the victim had been involved in a fight with a group of people who were partying in a church parking lot. The group was not associated with the church, Gunn said.
After the victim was stabbed, he crossed the street to the park where he collapsed on the sidewalk, Gunn said. The suspects fled in several vehicles, he added.
Later on, a deputy saw people pushing a car with a flat tire and discovered that at least one of them had been involved in a scuffle, Gunn said.
The suspects admitted to being involved in the fight at the church and deputies took two males, 17 and 18 years old, into custody, Gunn said.
