A 64-year-old woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run vehicle in the Rancho Dominguez area, authorities said Sunday.
The woman was identified as Sandra Flowers of Compton, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The crash was reported at 11:38 p.m. Saturday on Avalon Boulevard just south of Rosecrans Avenue, the CHP said.
A vehicle was going north in the number one lane of Avalon Boulevard at an unknown speed when it struck Flowers, who was walking eastbound across Avalon.
The vehicle fled the location and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The CHP’s South Los Angeles area office urged anyone with information regarding the crash to call them at 424-551-4000.
