A total of 14 people were displaced by a fire in a multi-family residential building, the Riverside Fire Department announced Saturday.
The fire was reported at 1:30 a.m. Friday in a two-story apartment building in the 900 block of Blaine Street in Riverside.
Two units were fully involved with fire when authorities arrived, and firefighters initiated aggressive interior attacks along with roof operations that kept the fire from spreading.
The fire was contained by 2:30 a.m., and resulted in the displacement of 14 people due to fire and water damage.
The American Red Cross was requested to assist the displaced people.
The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental, but no further information was available.
There were no reported injuries.
