A 39-year old pedestrian who was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash in Santa Clarita was identified by county authorities Tuesday.
Deputies responded at approximately 8:22 p.m. Friday to the intersection of Magic Mountain Parkway and Tourney Road to reports of a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian — identified by the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office as Dion Mumphrey — and a large, dark-colored pickup truck, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The driver failed to remain at the scene and continued westbound on Magic Mountain Parkway, authorities said.
Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel arrived at the location, where they pronounced Mumphrey dead at the scene.
A description of the suspect was not available.
