The FBI and local police are asking for the public’s help Tuesday in identifying a pale, sickly bank robber dubbed the “patient bandit” who held up a Citibank in Beverly Hills Nov. 28 and may have been casing a Citibank branch on Fairfax Avenue Friday
The robber, who earned his name by wearing a surgical-style face mask and a bandage on his arm, used a demand note that said he had a bomb when he held up the Citibank branch at 8485 Wilshire Blvd., Laura Eimiller of the FBI said.
The robber, who wore a New England Patriots ball cap, was described as a pale, white man in his 50s, more than 6 feet tall and about 230 pounds; he carried a black backpack.
Images of a man believed to be robber were recorded Friday as he stood in a line at a Citibank branch at Third Street and Fairfax Avenue, Eimiller said, adding that the suspect left without conducting any business.
Anyone with more information as to the robber’s name or whereabouts was asked to call the FBI’s 24-hour tipline at (310) 477-6565 or 911.
