A truck carrying and estimated 15,000 pounds of produce crashed and overturned on the southbound Golden State (5) Freeway Saturday in Newhall, temporarily blocking the connector road to the Antelope Valley (14 ) Freeway, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

The single-vehicle crash took place at 5:15 a.m., said CHP Officer Monica Posada.

The overturned truck dumped its load and the produce blocked the truck road that connects the south 5 Freeway to the north 14 Freeway, Posada said.

No injuries were reported.

The CHP shut down the connector road and declared a SigAlert at 5:49 a.m., according to Posada.

The roadway was finally cleared at 8:46 a.m., Posada said.

The crash remained under investigation.
