A Lake Los Angeles woman was charged Thursday with murder, accused of killing her boyfriend by beating him in the head with cans of food.

Linda Clarene Jackson, 59, was arrested late Tuesday in connection with the death of her 59-year-old boyfriend, David Ruiz, whose body was found earlier that day.
She is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday afternoon in Lancaster.
Sheriff’s officials said the victim’s body was found around 1:20 p.m. Tuesday in the 40200 block of 164th Street East. Details about a possible motive for the killing were not released.
Prosecutors said Ruiz was visiting Jackson’s home when the woman bludgeoned him in the head with canned foods.
According to the criminal complaint, Jackson has a 2005 conviction for criminal threats.
Jackson was booked at the Lancaster sheriff’s station and was being held on $1 million bail.
She faces life in prison if convicted.
