Police are looking for a man who robbed one bank after attempting to rob two others in the Los Feliz area Thursday.
In each case, a man described as black and between 40 and 45 years old passed a demand note, said Officer Drake Madison of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations department.
The first attempt happened at 1:07 p.m. at a Chase bank in the 1600 block of North Vermont Avenue, Madison said.

The second attempt occurred about 1:40 p.m. at a Bank of America in the 4500 block of Franklin Avenue, where the suspect passed a note saying a bag he was carrying contained explosives, police said. The bag was described as a lunch sack.
Both times, the man left without receiving any money, but he struck pay dirt on his third attempt, this one about 2:05 p.m. at a Citibank in the 1900 block of North Hillhurst Avenue, according to Madison, who said the man escaped with an undisclosed sum.
The suspect was further described as 6 feet 1 inch to 6 feet 3 inches tall, with a dark complexion, Madison said.
He was wearing a white shirt and sweat pants during the attempt at the Bank of America, police said.
