Officers from Los Angeles Airport Police and the Los Angeles Police Department searched for but could not find a burglary suspect who they believed had barricaded himself inside a vacant home in Westchester.

“We entered the home but did not find anyone inside,” said Los Angeles Airport Police Officer Alicia Hernandez. “So no one was arrested at the house, and all officers cleared the scene about 5:40 p.m.”

The incident began about 2:40 p.m. Tuesday when Los Angeles Airport Police received a call about three suspicious men going inside a vacant home near the intersection of Stanmoor Drive and 91st Street, next to Los Angeles International Airport, Hernandez said.

“Two of the men fled the scene before our officers arrived,” Hernandez said. “We thought the third man may have barricaded himself inside the vacant home.”

LAPD Officer Mike Lopez said the department received a call for assistance from Los Angeles Airport Police in its search for the suspect about 3:20 p.m. and officers from Pacific Division responded to the scene.

Officers from both departments joined in setting up a perimeter around the house, Hernandez said.
