Firefighters putting out a fire at a home in Diamond Bar Sunday discovered at least 1,000 marijuana plants inside the two-story structure.

Deputies were first called out at 11:56 p.m. Saturday to 811 Rexford Court on a possible burglary call, when they noticed smoke coming from the home, according to Sgt. Byron Ward of the sheriff’s Walnut/Diamond Bar station.

Firefighters were dispatched at 12:13 a.m., had the fire out at 12:52 a.m. and cleared the location about 3 a.m.

No one was at the home and no one is in custody, Ward said.
