A man who had been shot during a robbery Thursday at an apartment complex in Lancaster died Saturday, a sheriff’s deputy said Sunday.
No names was released for the man, who was hit by a gunshot in his upper torso.
A second man suffered lacerations to his head from blunt force trauma. He was treated for his injuries at an area hospital and released the following day, according to Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
An undisclosed amount of money was taken during the attack in the 1600 block of Cactus Drive, Navarro-Suarez said. Deputies were dispatched to the scene in response to a “shots fired” call, where two suspects fled the location in unknown direction.
The assaults occurred about 10 p.m. Thursday. The man that suffered the gunshot wound to the upper torso was pronounced dead about 4 p.m. Saturday, she said.
Homicides detectives were attempting to determine if the incident was gang related. They asked anyone with any information regarding the attack to call them at (323) 890-5500.
