Authorities Tuesday sought the cause of a fire that damaged a residential hotel in Long Beach.

Firefighters sent to The Grace Hotel at 11th Street and Obispo Avenue about 10 p.m. Monday extinguished the flames in the two-story building in about 40 minutes, the Long Beach Fire Department reported.

One person was taken to a hospital for treatment of an unspecified injury. Five dozen people were temporarily displaced by the fire.
