Police Thursday sought the public’s help in identifying and locating two men in connection with a homeless man who was killed by a hit-and-run motorist in an SUV, as he slept near the Venice Boardwalk.

Eddie Davis was struck about 1:30 a.m. on April 19 at Wave Crest Avenue and Speedway by a dark blue or black, late model Yukon Denali with custom, after-market wheels, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

The SUV was going northbound on Speedway when it veered off the road and struck Davis, while he was sleeping on the northwest corner of the intersection.

The SUV fled the scene southbound on Speedway and paramedics pronounced Davis dead at the scene.

One suspect was described as a 5-foot, 11-inch tall white or Latino male about 30 to 35 years old and was last seen wearing a brown jacket, blue plaid shirt, dark blue jeans and tennis shoes.

The other suspect was described as a 5-foot, 6-foot inch tall Latino man, about 30 to 35 years old. He was last seen wearing a gray beanie, gray sweatshirt, dark pants and tennis shoes.

LAPD West Traffic Division asked anyone with any information regarding the fatal hit-and-run to call them at (213) 473-0234.
