A bald parolee who stuck up a Palm Springs bank with an air pistol while wearing a blonde wig faces federal prison time when he is sentenced Friday in Los Angeles.
Anthony Tyrone Mack, 41, of Palm Springs robbed the Citibank branch at 1675 E. Palm Canyon Drive of $3,835 on May 1, 2017. He was caught shortly afterward following a foot chase.
Police said Mack shed the wig after running south out of the bank. Officers used a Taser to subdue him and take him into custody.
The parolee pleaded guilty in January to an armed bank robbery charge in Los Angeles federal court.
The government is asking U.S. District Judge Andre Birotte Jr. to impose a sentence of more than eight years behind bars, while the defense recommends a nearly six-year term, including drug and mental health treatment.
